Exodus 17:11 So it came about when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed, and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed.
we begin in prayer,
we begin to see the victory
then we 'rest'
Amalek prevails

Volition - the fountainhead of agape!

In both Matthew 24:14 and 26:13, the Lord talks about the gospel going into the entire world.

One is the gospel being preached for a witness, precipitating the end of the age. The other is about what Mary did when she anointed him.

Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of in memory of her."

For years I wondered, "Why?" A few months ago, I received a satisfying answer.

Should we ever wonder what degree of repentance and devotion is appropriate in responding to the Gospel, just look at what that woman did.

This woman's devotion to Jesus is an example of what He is looking for.

This woman's devotion to Jesus is the example of what He is looking for.

When the Son of God was incarnated as Jesus of Nazareth He revealed God’s love. The degree of this love has not diminished now that Jesus is at the Father’s right hand.

Jesus has been exalted to the same degree of glory He shared with the Father before the world was. He took with Him, into that glory, the same love that was manifest in the incarnation.

Through Jesus, that love for every person is enthroned at the center of the universe -- the throne of God.

Jesus said "I will build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it".

Many of us in the past read this, and read into it, that the object of building up the Church is to overcome the gates of Hades.

Actually, Messiah is building up His people because He loves them.

All the active strategies, all the counsels, every power and place of authority the Enemy can command cannot, and will not, ever overcome Jesus’s active love.

Love edifies.

He will build His covenant community. His motive in building us is because He loves us. Through us and with us, Jesus has determined to love others.
