A Mystery In Job

The person, Job, speaks of Someone else.

What is the point of this book?

Many have used Job as a model for every believer. They teach that the devil can only have access to a believer’s life if God gives express permission.

I heard one of my favorite teachers say that Job takes its place in Wisdom Literature by stating, ‘human wisdom is bankrupt.’
(I agree.)

A friend said that the point of Job was the developing of an intercessor.
(Good point.)

We remember that due to Satan, Job lost
his possessions,
his children,
his health,
his fellowship with his wife (who became his first accuser),
his reputation,
and became subject to accusation from his friends as they sought an explanation as to ‘why’ this happened to an apparently righteous man.

Consider this…
What fault was there in Job that all of these horrible things happened to him?’

The Biblical answer, the answer Yahweh gave, is that there was no fault in Job whatsoever.

Consider these questions…
What fault was there in God that His angels should rebel?
What fault was there in God that He should become bereft of His children?
What fault was there in God that His world would come under the sway of the evil one?
What fault was there in God that He should be subject to the accusations of angels and humanity?
What fault was there in God that He should be subject to the loss of His reputation?
What fault was there in God that He should have to be defended weakly by His ‘friends’ seeking to divine a good ‘reason’ that ‘He allows’ evil to run rampant?

At Calvary, Jesus revealed the Heart of God. Alone, despised, weak, rejected, suffering under the loss and alienation of that which was made through Him…

There is no fault in Him.

See Him suffer.

Look at Job.
